We live in a world where the line between right and wrong has become very thin. A lot of things once considered unacceptable and shameful now have been embraced, even in our churches.
What God originally purposed for the church is not exactly what many churches represent today. The standard of our faith has been lowered, essential truths have been diluted or ignored altogether. A lot of churches set out to be more accessible and more accommodating and in the process ended up becoming more worldly than godly. And so we have many people in church, who do not really know God and His ways.
This notwithstanding, the truth of God stands sure. His position concerning right and wrong is the same today as it was yesterday. A world loving church or a world loving Christian is not God’s idea. The Bible makes this clear in the book of James 4:4 which says”....know ye not that friendship with the world is enmity with God?”. Also, 2 Corinthians 6: 15-17 records “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God”.
The standard of God is for the believer to be separated from the world. A believer that is separated unto God is that vessel that God uses as a light to His or her world. May the Lord give us grace to live our lives consecrated unto Him in Jesus name.
